1. What were the three aspects of the assignments I've submitted that I am most proud of?
The three things I would say I am most proud of would be my compendium reviews, my different stages of mitosis lab and my quiz scores.
2. What two aspects of my submitted assignments do I believe could have used some improvement? I definetly feel like my ethical issues and my color group peer essays could have used more work.
3. What do I believe my overall grade should be for this unit?
While I don't believe that I should receive an "A" for this unit I do feel that I deserve a "B". I did put a lot of effort into finishing this unit and believe/tried to do more than average work.
4. How could I perform better in the next unit?
I will definetly spend more time and do more research for my ethical essay.
5. At what moment during this unit did you feel most engaged with the course?
Suprisingly I had most fun making my cell models. While doing the hands on it really made me stop and notice all the parts of the cell.
6. At what moment unit did you feel most distanced from the course?
The essays.....sorry...I hate them.
7. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took during this unit that find most affirming and helpful?
Mr. Frolich being so understanding on my misreading the directions really helped take some of the pressure off and keep me from feeling so over whelmed. Thank you Mr. Frolich.
8. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took during this unit did you find most puzzling or confusing?
I didn't find anything puzzling or confusing in this unit. I was amazed to look at other students blogs and wondered if I would be able to do as well as they did.
9. What about this unit surprised you the most? (This could be something about your own reactions to the course, something that someone did, or anything else that occurs to you.)
Oops...I kind of answered that in question 8..so I will say it again here. Just goind through other students blogs to get an idea on how they were completing the coursed put me in awe but also scared me because I wasn't sure that I could do as well as they did.

Stacy, I know you’re working on the things that are missing. Send me an e-mail when all is ready. Let me know if you have any questions,

.
SELF/UNIT EVALUATION: I didn’t see this in your blog. Please be sure you answer these questions for an easy 5 points. Send me an e-mail when you’ve answered them.
6/23 Done—five points. I know a lot of work! I’m glad we got the timing straightened out now.
COMPENDIUM REVIEW 1: CELLS: This is an effective review. I again like how you break everything down into small topics, each with their own entry and well-chosen graphic. Please again be careful about copying directly without showing quotes. And for future reviews, be sure you include, even if it’s in your first entry, a table of contents or outline or something that shows all the topics and how they are related.
COMPENDIUM REVIEW 2: GENETICS: This is a very effective review. I like how you make little topical entries for each sub-topic with a well-selected graphic. To be exemplary, you would want more of an intro and conclusion that tie the entire topic together and more sources of detailed information. Also, please be careful about copying directly from a website without indicating in quotes that the words are not your own. I do like that you cite where your info comes from. Keep it up.
MICROSCOPE LAB: This is an effective write-up. Nice image, good definitions and a good introduction. To be exemplary, be sure you include a conclusion and some other references to the course material.
DRAGON GENETICS LAB: Please be sure you completely read the lab instructions. I am giving this the low baseline grade, but it doesn’t really qualify. You needed to at least define the terms that were given on the lab write-up instruction page. Also, you should include an introduction and conclusion that show you understand the topic and the significance of what you did online.
LAB PROJECT: BUILD A CELL: The lab projects are crucial and you must do them—worth 60 points or almost one third of the unit. I didn’t see this in your blog. Send me an e-mail when it is posted.
6/23: Stacy, nice choice of materials and it does look nice—I wouldn’t say art isn’t a strong point. I like how you show the DNA and the mitosis. Again, please be sure you read the directions to be sure you include everything you should. The cell should have all the organelles mentioned in the lab project instructions with descriptions of all of them. And it should also show DNA replication and protein assembly. I’ll call this baseline this time, but be sure you include the basics in your next lab project (42 points)
ETHICAL ISSUE ESSAY: GENETIC ENGINEERING: I didn’t see this in your blog. Please be sure you this short essay for an easy 10 points. Send me an e-mail when you’ve answered them.
6/23 Nice baseline essay. If you feel challenged by writing an essay, just follow the detailed outline suggestion I have on the website instructions for the essays. Be sure you include a title and three different viewpoints. This is a great start and your writing style is really nice…just following the directions will make it exemplary! (7)
Please don’t forget to do your peer color group feedback on their ethical issues essays—you’ll probably find it interesting to see some other blogs also. And get started on Unit II if you haven’t already. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this feedback or your grades which can be seen on the YC Blackboard site.
